SI MedEd is the flagship portal for the entire SI med-ed family — an unofficial set of independent guides on becoming and training physicians. Two doors open here: faculty and staff head to SILME, the LCME accreditation hub; students head to SI Med School, the student hub. Deeper guides on the USMLE and each exam live one level down. Everything is grounded in public, national data and built with modern AI methods — and nothing here is affiliated with any official body.
This site is unofficial: it is not affiliated with, sponsored, or endorsed by the NBME, USMLE, LCME, NRMP, AAMC, or any medical school. The authoritative sources are always the official sites — usmle.org, nbme.org, lcme.org, nrmp.org, and aamc.org.
Two doors
The SI universe serves two audiences from two flagships. Pick the one that fits — each links straight back here, so you're never more than a click from the front door.
What SILME is to faculty and staff: the 12 LCME standards and 83 elements, an accreditation toolkit of official documents, role-based LCME 101 guides, an updates tracker, and Elsie — a Q&A assistant that answers from the standards text. For everyone who lives accreditation work.
Enter SILME → Students & applicantsWhat SILME is to faculty and staff, SI Med School is to students: the student counterpart of the flagship — medical school admissions, the path through the USMLE, and the resources students actually need, in plain language.

Beyond the two flagships, the family covers the exam side of the physician pipeline in depth — how the USMLE is structured and what each Step demands.
The exam overview hub: how the United States Medical Licensing Examination is structured, how the three Steps fit together, what score reporting means, and where to find the official bulletins and content outlines.

Medical education runs on documents: USMLE content outlines, AAMC admissions statistics, NBME performance profiles, LCME standards, NRMP match data. They are authoritative and, frankly, hard to read — scattered across PDFs, dense tables, and jargon. The SI MedEd family puts the working parts of those documents into plain language in one place, grounded in what the official sources actually say. Nothing here replaces an academic advisor, a licensing bulletin, or the official exam sites. And everything here is explicitly unofficial: these guides interpret public information; they don't speak for the bodies that publish it.
Every number cited carries a year and a source. No school-internal data, no leaked questions, no confidential anything — only what's published and citable.
These sites give you the information to think clearly about admissions, exams, and accreditation. They are not a substitute for your own advisor, dean, or the official guidance.
Official publications are summarized and paraphrased, never reproduced at length. The original document is always one click away, with links checked regularly.
